Yes. All Leaf Eater models feature stainless steel mesh with a 0.955mm aperture, which is mosquito-proof while allowing optimal water flow.
All Leaf Eater models are available in 90mm and 100mm sizes. Part numbers: RHLE01/RHLE06 (Original), RHAD01/RHAD02 (Advanced), RHUL01/RHUL02 (Ultra).
The Leaf Eater Original is designed for vertical downpipes only. However, the Leaf Eater Advanced and Leaf Eater Ultra both feature VH Pivot outlets that can be adjusted for vertical or horizontal (rear outlet) downpipe installation.
💧 First Flush Downpipe Diverter
The first flush of contaminated roof water enters the diverter chamber via a T junction. As the chamber fills, a ball rises until it seals the inlet. Cleaner subsequent rainwater then flows directly to your tank. A slow release valve automatically drains the chamber over time, resetting for the next rainfall event.
For areas with less pollution, divert approximately 0.5 litres per square metre. For 90mm diverters, use ~80mm pipe length per m². For 100mm diverters, use ~65mm per m². For higher pollution areas, divert 1-2 litres per m² – 90mm: ~160-320mm per m², 100mm: ~130-260mm per m².
WDDP01 (90mm) and WDDP02 (100mm).
🛡️ Air Gap – Stormwater Backflow Prevention
In extreme rainfall, if stormwater infrastructure becomes blocked, dirty water can surge back through pipes towards your rainwater tank. An air gap creates a physical gap between your tank and stormwater lines, preventing backflow. Instead of entering your tank, contaminated water spills out the front of the air gap onto the ground.
The Air Gap is available in 90mm (TAAG01) and 100mm (TAAG02).
You can install your air gap at the top or bottom of the vertical overflow pipe. Installing it closer to the top generally makes it easier to maintain. Ensure you don't have a charged line which could affect installation height.
Check that the bayonet fitting is engaged correctly. Push and turn the top filter to secure the screen in place.
You can connect the downstream (bottom) side to a 100mm pipe using a 100×90 socket reducer. Please consult a licensed plumber for suitability in reducing the upstream (top) connection.
Overflowing rainwater from your tank can leak from the air gap if the bottom screen becomes dirty or obstructed. Regularly check and clean your bottom screen to prevent this issue.
